Proposed Duplex at Jurien Bay

The overall concept is one of understated luxury – two residences that offer independence yet share a design language rooted in simplicity, connection to place, and a deep appreciation for coastal living.

Set against the relaxed coastal backdrop of Jurien Bay, this architecturally designed duplex blends contemporary coastal living with thoughtful, efficient design. Each residence is conceived as a mirror of the other, yet with subtle individuality, offering a refined balance between privacy and connection.

The exterior is defined by a restrained palette of natural materials – rendered masonry, timber cladding, and expansive glazing – chosen to complement the soft tones of sand and sea. Bold, angular rooflines nod to the modern Australian beach house, while deep eaves provide shelter from the coastal sun.

Inside, each home embodies openness and light. Generous living spaces orient toward the coast, with floor-to-ceiling glass framing glimpses of ocean and sky. Sliding doors extend the interiors to outdoor terraces and courtyards, encouraging a seamless indoor-outdoor lifestyle that resonates with the bay’s relaxed pace.

Sustainability informs the design: passive cooling, cross-ventilation, solar readiness, and durable materials that withstand the coastal environment ensure the duplex remains practical and enduring.
